What is it?
It is a test that looks for tiny pieces of proteins on the surface of the virus, called antigens. It is a less sensitive test as compared to the RT-PCR and is not as accurate either. If an antigen test is negative, there might be a further need to do a RT-PCR test as well.
How is it done?
Similar to the RT-PCR test, a nose swab can take a small amount of sample from your nose or a throat swab can be done to take sample from your top part of the throat.
What is the results turnaround time?
We can deliver the results of an antigen test in approximately 20 minutes.

COVID19 Testing FAQs
01 Is the COVID19 RT-PCR test covered by insurance?
Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, patients are entitled to reimbursement for the cost of COVID19 testing from their insurance company. However, tests performed for use in any form of travel (domestic, international) are not covered under insurance.
02 Why do you charge for COVID19 RT-PCR testing?
To carry out the RT-PCR test for travel, we incur a cost as well as overhead expenses, especially with the shorter turnaround time tests. As a result, we’d have to charge you for the tests performed at our facility to sustain our business.
03 Can I get my RT-PCR test done in the car or do I need to come into the facility?
For most tests, you would have to come into the facility for providing the test sample. However, for COVID19 RT-PCR test, we can have a medical assistant come up to your car in our parking lot, to perform the test.
04 Do you provide urgent RT-PCR test or emergency RT-PCR test results for international travel?
Yes, we can provide same-day, urgent, or emergency RT-PCR testing with a quick turnaround time of 30 minutes to support your international travel.
05 Do you provide a QR code and stamp for my RT-PCR test results?
Yes, we provide you with QR code and stamp on your RT-PCR test results that is valid for international travel.
06 Can you affix my photograph and/or provide a QR code on my RT-PCR test results?
Yes, we can have your photograph and/or a QR code printed on your RT-PCR test results that is valid for international travel, especially for countries like Nepal.
07 Do you provide any group discounts for RT-PCR testing?
Yes, we can provide a discount for groups of more than 5 people. Please ask our staff at the lab or give us a call to discuss more.
